I’m sittin’ on the dock of the bay wastin’ time.

So I kind of feel like I’m doing absolutely nothing productive in my life. Because I’m 18 the typical comment to myself from an adult would be “You have your whole life ahead of you”. But to me, because I’m 18 (almost 19, remember), I feel like I’m losing time. I’m almost 20!! When did THAT happen? It’s weird because I feel like 20 is so much older than 19. Like even if I was 19 and 364 days it wouldn’t be weird. But one day and number later and I would be 20 which seems so much older! I don’t really know if I’m making sense. I hope I am. So I’m 18 and going nowhere fast… I have this new thing of wanting to learn new “skills”. Like just recently I tried to learn how to play the harmonica but it didn’t go so well. Then I also tried to learn magic tricks – once again –  more difficult than was planned. Now I’m trying to learn to cook…. I guess we’ll see how that goes. PS – I’m watching Family Matters and I’ve come to the conclusion that that show is pretty dumb aside from the occasional Steve Urkel moment. Anyway, it’s like Late O’Clock in the morning and I have to get up for church in the morning.

  1. I totally know what you mean about it being weird to think about turning 20. I had the same thoughts going through my head around my birthday back in March. Luke pointed out that 20 is 1/5 of 100. So there you go, we’re probably more than 1/5 of the way through our lives which is slightly frightening to think about. So I guess, just set goals, get motivated and do what you want to do. Aaaah life. :)
